Peck PTA Board Elections!

Thank you for considering being on the PTA Board for Peck Elementary.  The PTA is a non-profit organization that works to support students and teachers at Peck Elementary as well as advocating for causes related to children and education.   Our PTA held annual elections for the PTA Board on March 14.

President: Ashley Alfaro

Vice President: Scott Turner

Treasurer: Meagan Wilson

Secretary: Open

There are still spots available for additional Vice Presidents (per our Bylaws we can have up to 3) and Secretary.   Please email [email protected] if you’re interested in serving or have more question about it!

Here’s more information on the responsibilities of the open roles:

Vice Presidents (Up to 3 can be elected):
  • Serves as an aide to the president
  • Performs the duties of the president in his/her absence (such as lead meetings),
  • May be assigned to a specific area to help drive growth or special initiatives (membership, community, communications, etc.),
  • Serves as a signor on the PTA checking account
  • Other Duties as necessary
Secretary:
  • Records minutes at all PTA meetings,
  • Maintains copies of bylaws and current membership roster
  • Other Duties as necessary

If you don’t think a board position is right for you, please plug in to another spot within PTA!  There are always needs for parents to run events, serve on committees (such as the finance or elections committees).  We need volunteers to make things run!

 

President:

Presides over meetings,

Serves on committees and helps direct and coordinate the activities of the PTA,

Appoints any special committees,

Signs any contracts for the PTA,

Serves as a point person with the Principal and School Staff for PTA matters,

Serves as a signor on the PTA checking account,

Ensures that the correct IRS filings and Colorado PTA submissions have been made to remain in good standing with the National PTA,

Other Duties as necessary

 

Treasurer:

Maintains our PTA check book and the associated records,

Ensures that cash collected for the PTA is counted by two individuals and deposited as quickly as possible,

Serves as a signor on the PTA checking account,

Provides a financial report at each PTA General Meeting,

Submits the books for an annual review by the Financial Review Committee and ensures that the results of that review are provided to the Colorado PTA.

Other Duties as necessary
